DescriptionAttached label (which is beginning to come off) reads:m"Eahabith, Milky Way, Comanche." 128 printed on photo. Same photo appears on page 297 of Wilbur Nye's "Plains Indian Raiders." The author writes that although the name is always spelled Asa-Havey, Milky Way, the Indian Figure of speech "Milky Way" is " The Wolf's Road" and the name should be spelled Esa-Havey. He was identified with friendly Indians and helped post commanders retrieve white captives from wild Indians. The captain gives credit for the photo to Alexander Gardner, and adds that it was taken in 1872 in Washington.
