DescriptionDetached label reads: "Squaw of Two Strikes - Brule Dakota." "350" printed on photo. The clothes and pose of this photo are identical to those of the woman in the photo with accession number 40.55.1. These two could be the same woman, as the identifications indicate, but if so, they have clearly been photographed at different times. Looking closely at facial features to be sure they are the same women, it appears that the chins, eyes and ears are the same and even the same hairs hang in wisps. Yet the chins seem to be shaped differently and the foreheads are not quite the same. The woman in this photo seems to have more wrinkles in her face and is probably quite a bit older.
