DescriptionA knob-top whaler's hat designed with an eagle motif. Shades of browns, tans and greens. The earliest of these hats were worn by whale hunters. In latter half of 18th century the hats were no longer exclusive to whale hunters. Display status and wealth. Hat would have been held on with two thongs tied under chin. Done in two strand twining.On View
