Description"Object of coarse volcanic stone in the shape of a sitting bird. The body is roughly modelled, apparently to resemble a rattle snake's tail. The type of stone appears to be either from Costa Rica or the Valley of Mexico. Otherwise I am unable to identify this piece" Pippa Shaplin 8/83.
