DescriptionMan's basketry carrying bag with scorpion design. Rectangular basket that closes inside itself. Basket has cord around it to keep basket closed and carry it by. Two groups of smaller red and large blue/green/red feathers attached to bottom. Four groupings of similar feathers at top corners. One group at the top corner has large yellow feathers. Bar of plant fiber across the top of the basket. No design in the bottom. Baskets also known as a pakara?. Scorpions known as chikiri. Rectangles between claws represent moyosu, "a leafworm which is eaten by the scorpion." Kiriwonbi? from feathers.On View
