DescriptionOval-shaped box made of dark red carved bentwood. Consists of two sections- a bottom, and slightly larger top, which fits over it. Top consists of carved geometric patterns with a heavy emphasis on diamonds, triangles and lines. Elevated oval section in the middle is painted a deeper red, and inside it is orange and yellow paint (respectively), a blue and white carved design depicting some sort of beaded belt or necklace and a triangular object carved and painted partially with navy blue. Rounded sides of top and bottom are held in place with string loops extending vertically from bottom to top. Underside of top contains inscriptions "Wji my loved stepfather for all your inspirations and endless support, By Garon T. York, Abenaki Nation, Zake Freezing Moon, 2005, In honor of the reconvening of the Seven Nations, Wabanki Bentwood Box #3.
