DescriptionThis oval yoke of the closed variety is made from gray volcanic rock which has been polished. The yoke is uniform in diameter at one end, displaying rounded edges and no decorative carving. As the curve is followed the yoke thickens and comes to a point of sorts. On the left side (if carved portion is facing viewer) is a raised banding with a triangular design carved in front. Design is fairly worn. The right side has no design, instead there appears to be similar banding with a projection rising from behind the band. Toward the front of the piece (on the upper right side) is a smooth, oval indentation of approx. 8 cm. The front of the yoke thickens and comes to a rounded smooth edged "point".
