DescriptionTwo photographs of the Qutab Minar in Delhi, India. First photograph is of the first story alone. The second photograph is of the entire structure. The Qutab Minar stands 72.5 meters high with a 15 meter diameter base. The structure is a pillar shape that narrows as it goes up. Has five stories separated by four balconies. The structure is made of red sandstone on the first three stories. Fourth and fifth stories are marble. Has vertical projections around the column alternating in rounded and angular shapes. Bands of calligraphy (Koranic inscriptions). Column was built in 1199 and finished in late 13th century.On View
