DescriptionDeep, round-bottomed straight-sided bowl of light brown clay slipped white and then painted red, leaving negative (white) designs of horizontal stripes enclosing two panels, each with a large checkered lozenge divided by two vertical rectangles. The painted areas are highly polished; large chip in rim reveal clay black in cross-section, ie. reduced firing.
