DescriptionBlood root plant with white blossoms, grass and two fallen oak leaves on a mound of earth; several beetles and a ladybug climbing on the grasses; some white petals on the ground; a pale purple butterfly hovers above the plants; the whole is silhouetted against a blue sky; the technique is particular in the manner of northern Renaissance painting. Signed upper right: "J.E. 1955."
