DescriptionExcept for the cistern, the barometer is encased in a wooden case, which in turn is sheathed by a leather case. the barometer is a "standard" model, intended for precise measurement. It is equipped with an adjusting screw, a vernier operated by a rack and pinion, a thermometer, and a cylindrical window through which the barometer is adjusted. It is intended to be hung from a ring at its top. An unusual feature is the iron cistern,On strap: "J.W. Votey Burlington, VT"
