DescriptionCircus troupe on the march, facing the viewer from center and walking directly towards viewer; central figure is a man walking at the head of the column, just left of center, with walking stick and carrying a parcel basket on his back; behind him can be seen most of the front of a wagon drawn by an ox, man directing; right of center a horse, overburdened, struggles along; in the center background the tops of two tall conifers can be seen; other background is pastoral as well
