DescriptionThe book consists of eighteen sections. Seventeen paintings to accommodate each section, save the first section, which has an elaborate illumination at the top and bottom of the page. The paintings depict various scenes of the story of the Mahabharata. There are 18 illuminations in the first section; a total of 700 pages, 1400 of text. The script is written in Persian, the text is read in Sanskrit. Text in black ink, red highlights place-names and people. Several blank pages preceding text as well as following.On View
