DescriptionGlazed ceramic "fritware". The main vessel is cone shaped with flared rim, neck, 3 handles on shoulder tapering in five decreasing donut - shapes to point at base. Bowl-shaped cover is lined in metal and chains with hooks hanging through three rings to a ring on top. Basically blue or black backgrounds with wolf chasing a deer, geese eating a snake. Three sets of figures, young and bearded old man smoking a pipe; 2 reading a book before them. Flowers, borders, Kufic Arabic script, "Sultan Mahmud". In blues, greens, white, tan, rose with black outlines. Top has two sets of lions biting hind quarters of a gazelle.On View
