DescriptionChild Horus with head of Bes directly on top of his head; lower half broken off; black slate; inscriptions on back; traces of green and red; Stelae of Horus on the crocodiles; Early Saite; Cippi of Horus: small stelae with rounded tops inscribed with Horus standing on crocodiles; stelae were often used for recording events, but Cippi of Horuses were giant amulets or talismans placed in a conspicuous part of the courtyard or house to ward off all evil influence; usually inscribed with magical formulas.On View
