DescriptionBell-shaped piece of wood. Part of a kerosene brass lantern. It has six sides and is smaller at bottom than at top. Each side glassed with (?round/rough?) glass and barred to prevent breakage. It is surmounted by a dome with hammered design. Two sides form doors in order to light wick. Mounted on wooden standard and there is no pole just a base. Labeled: "Messengers/No.2" on wick adjuster, "Messengers/Patent" on rim that holds wick, and "Patent" on back key.On View
