DescriptionThree screen panels made of mahogany, rose copper-colored satin heavily embroidered with silk and metal thread (silver). Unlined threads visible on under side. Bought from estate of a railroad magnate.A. Embroidered silver tree with branches, flowers, and leaves and a silver bird with out-stretched wings. Tiny flowers and leaves.Various colored silks form a border at bottom. 114 x 53 cm.
B. Large peacock embroidered in metal thread and colored silk. Head and neck dark blue. A silver tree with raised silk flowers dotterd with tiny glass crystals for a background. 114 x 53 cm.
C. Similar to (A) except that there are two silver birds, one small one large. 119 x 53 cm.
