DescriptionDark brown, much used basket with lid. Narrow at the "throat" of the basket, wider and fuller at the "body" of the basket, and then narrow again at the "foot" of the basket, with a slight "flare" on the base. Slightly torn along base of basket, and lighter patches along rim of lid as well as a few areas along the "body" of the basket. Certain areas along the body seem to have some substance (mud?, paint?) dried and smothered in between gaps of the straw weaving of the basket. Two holes on each side of basket, near the top, where a string may have once been for carrying purposes.
