In the foreground, flat rocks and water; to the right, a boat with a broken figurehead in which is seated a man with a beard and bald head; his left arm is raised and almost touching a figure floating above with a halo and outspread arms and wings, with right hand pointing upward and the left down toward the man; in the middle ground, at the right, bare rocks and open water to the center and left under a lowering cloud; from the top left corner come streaks of light and small figures with wings, floating or sitting on clouds; top right, dark clouds; inscriptions the same as "Childhood."
