DescriptionInterior of a house. An old black man with white hair sits on a chair which is losing its caned seat. He is warming his hands by the heat of the stove on which a pot is steaming; the orange fire can be seen through the open end. The stove pipe runs across the room and runs up the wall. In the background, a cracked plaster wall with a mirror which has an ostrich feather stuck in it. 2 loose pictures are tacked next to it and what looks like some red leaves hanging from a nail. A cat is curled up on the floor to the right, its back turned to viewer. On View
