DescriptionA figure is shown facing the viewer's right in profile. Her posture is straight with the exception of her right arm which is bent at the elbow; the right forearm is held horizontally, the right hand holding the crook of an umbrella handle which hangs at the figure's right front. She wears a long skirt, a hat and a long sleeved jacket with fur trimmed shoulder collar, cuffs and hem. The sitter for this study is believed to be Nolde's wife Ada. Signed lower rightOn View
