DescriptionSerape with cotton warp and wool and cotton weft. Primarily red with a wide range of colors from white through pinks, yellows and greens. The design features a central lozenge shape, stepped and multi-colored with four smaller diamonds within. Notable for the complexity of the weave Rectangular field of vertical zigzag stripes of many colors made up of smaller stepped shapes repeated over the field. The border is a band of black with parallelogram shapes laid in. This serape resembles those woven earlier in the 19th century. Trentle loom tapestry work, cotton warp and fringe, wool weft indigenos designs. Cotton binding is probably not original.
