DescriptionA pottery hill jar and cover from the Han Dynasty. Its cylindrical sides are molded with a lively frieze of animals running along foothills of stylized mountains, fantastic beasts and birds in the sky overhead.  They are divided by two mock toatie mask and ring handles and is raised on three bear supports. The lid is modeled in forms of tiered peaks, and leaping animals. All is covered in a green and olive glaze.On View
