DescriptionLarge storage jar, round bottomed. Coarse low-fired clay with cord-marked decoration on upper half (cord wrappted on stick to make designs). Paddle marks on jar; (cord would be made with mosse hair and basswood fiber). Tan clay, pointed bottom.J. Petersen: "May be Champlain Valley Archaeological Society and may be the Rivers Site. In 1930's John Bailey excavated with Fleming and CVAS sponsorship"; "probably Champlain Valley Archaeological piece excavated in 1930's, from numbers on sherds"
