DescriptionThe goddess Durga is about to dispatch the Asura (demon) Mahisa who emerges from a water buffalo, a form he had assumed. The eight-armed goddess wears an elaborate tiara girdles and jewels. In her upraised right arm she holds the discus. An oval nimbus appears behind her head.
