DescriptionA heavy plate with a blue inscription that reads Delhi in Devanagari, a north Indian script, on the back. The base of the bowl has a deep foot, the bowl is round with a wide rim of 4 inches. Inside is 1-1/2" deep with a 5-1/2" diameter. The scalloped edge is painted as well as indented, creating a petal effect. The brim design is of flowers and leaves, both large and small. Inside is the image of the goddess Furga riding a tiger/lion, wearing a skirt and cap. The person has bands or band-like markings on her upper and fore arms and a circle around her head. She is carrying a triangluar flag. The slope into the bowl has a floral design and 14 clusters of curved lines. The colors used to glaze are turquoise, white/cream, and deep blue.
