DescriptionA pile of palm leaf strips engraved with writing. Strips are long and thin. They are wedges in between two wooden pieces, which are the same length and width as the strips themselves. the bottom piece of wood is propped up on two pieces which serve as legs. Carved upon the top piece of wood are two lizards figurines, one on either side facing inwards. In between them is a square knob for lifting the piece; into the knob itself is carved a flower-like pattern. In the center of the knob a dark-colored string comes out and is wrapped around the object several times to keep the wood strips and palm leaves inside. This string is connected inside to all of the palm leaves through a pierced hole directly in the middle of each, and finally is strung through a corresponding hole in the bottom piece of wood and tied. Upon the other end of the string, which is wrapped several times around the object, is a metal ring-shaped coin with Asian characters inscribed onto it.
