DescriptionA pile of long, twin palm leaf strips engraved with writing and drawings (2 roosters drawn on top strip). Strips are wedges in between two wooden pieces, which are the same length and width as the strips themselves. The bottom piece of wood is elevated by two "legs" on either side. Carved upon the top piece of wood are two lizard figurines, one on each side and facing inwards. In between them is carved a flower, out from which comes a string used to wrap around the object several times when closed. At one end of the string is a ring shaped coin upon which Asian character are inscribed. The other end of the string goes through the center of each palm leaf via a pierced hole and is tied on the bottom of the lower piece of wood. The palm leaves are tied together on either end by a dark-colored string. A diamond-shaped design is engraved into the front and back of the top piece of wood.On View
