DescriptionPowder horn with an open dispenser (no stopper) and a mouth covered with a wooden lid. Horn is likely made from an animal horn, though animal type is unknown. Narrow end has a metal wire wrapped around it, likely for attaching a stopper. Stopper is missing. Dispenser end is black and mouth end has shades of black and yellow. Mouth end has a wooden lid that is attached by a metal wire. Lid is stuck in horn, likely because wood has expanded over time. Carved in the wood is what appears to be "F T 1812 Horn." The "f" may also be a "j." As an object, powder is inserted into wide mouth end and leaves through narrow dispenser end. Wide mouth end has four extra holes in its sides, two of which have wood in them,
