DescriptionBone is hollow at the narrow end and is open and lined with copper. Copper extends into the interior and covers about half of the hollow cavity. At the wide end there is some superimposed wear and carving. The entire front is decorated with a linear pattern in low relief. Back of object has no decoration. In the middle of the back side there is a small hole which is uniform in size and extends through the wall of the bone -probably where the pipe stem would be located. The bone is very dark and hard and the surface is quite glossy - possibly treatedOn View
