DescriptionPipe carved of four human figures. Two nearest the mouthpiece are wearing blankets with long fringe and are facing the mouthpiece. Figure 1 is kneeling with legs tucked under and showing on the pipe bottom--he wears a short decorated hat and his arms are outstretched and touching the pipe stem. Figure 2 is looking toward the sky with his rt. hand on rt. cheek and left hand holds a long staff. Figure 3 faces the opposite direction toward the bowl and is chin to chin with Figure 4 who's mouth forms the bowl and is looking toward the sky. Figure 4 is wearing a tall ringed hat and appears to be struggling with Figure 3 as their arms are raised and intertwined. Figure 3 is without clothing, hair is long and straight like Figure 2. A joint design of perhaps a claw is between Figure 3 and 4. Mouthpiece is white ivory or bone and is approximately 1 cm long.On View
