DescriptionCylindrical leather case with two buckle fastenings, scallop-edged flap.

Cylindrical leather case with two straps and buckles. Case has two small handles. Leather case has sun-like engravings near the straps and sides of the case. Sides of case has circular metal plates that resemble spiral flowers. Unsure if case is actually used for surveyor chain or how it opens. Stitching is undone, allowing it to open. If stitching were intact, case wouldn't have a lot of room for an opening.
