DescriptionBamboo basket with brass fittings, padded silk lining, ceramic, wool padding. Cylindrical teapot. Two wire handles wrapped with red string. Decorated with flowers, birds and butterflies. Basket is cane and wood with brass handles and fittings. The pink color in the palette of faille rose painted porcelain was created to satisfy European taste but it was also copied as a novelty by the Chinese on objects for their own use. The padded bamboo basket serves as a tea cozy to keep the object hot.On View
