DescriptionFace has three round holes for eyes and mouth. Applique roll of clay across forehead and under chin. Broken off a vessel or large "adorno". Represents the head of Xipe (or his priest) dressed in flayed skin of sacrificial victim ( who assures the regrowth of the maize).
