DescriptionFlat clay plate with two pairs of opposed lugs. Reddish buff clay, the upper surface painted a dull orange with narrow border of sawtooth design in black. Three red and two white stripes are painted with narrow black lines in a "triglyph and metope" design. This pottery style was mass produced under centralized government supervision and is distinctively Inca, owing little or nothing to earlier cultural traditions in ancient Peru.
