DescriptionIron with wooden handle. Removable top with smoke spout fastened to iron proper which contains the charcoal. Pin holds top in place. Draft opening at back covered with perdant having on it the face of a man. Top of iron has on it these names: W.D. Cummings, N. Taliaferro, E. Bless Patented in 1852.

(1) Dark colored flatiron with a rotating clasp depicting a man's face. / (2) Top of iron with wooden handle; engraved text appears to say: W.D. Cummings. N. Taliaferro [third line illegible] Patented 185(?)
