DescriptionA square, striped cotton cloth, with borders of plain orange and an interior patterned with combinations of multi-colored stripes of varying widths, and two bands of ikat dyed elephants, longitudinal borders of geometrically patterned warp floats. The stripes and ikat design resembles some Orissan saris (see Lynton, pp. 93-103, and 107-115). "Weavers of Orissa and Andra Pradesh have prospered, flooding the handloomed cloth market with fashionably coloured and patterned single- and double-ikat saris, garment and furnishing cloths, (Gillow, 38)".
