DescriptionA small, rectangular embroidery sampler, worked in counted-cross stitch on a coarse linen ground. Motifs of sailboat, potted flowers and birds worked in multicolored threads. Composition enclosed by border of a berried vine (holly?). Ground fabric is hand-hemmed on all four sides. Text of "Don d'amitie/A mon amie,". Style of work greatly resembles those of #'s 1981.9.297 and 261, also from the Conger collection. Same provenance?On View
