DescriptionSingle rod coiled construction, self-coiled rim on basket and lid. Oblong whalebone starter with rounded corners. Carved walrus ivory finial of seal head with eyes and muzzle darkened with black ink. Basket and lid decorated with white baleen in pattern of pairs of vertical bars, spaced in 6 vertical rows, alternating twice and three times. Shape of basket is spherical with peaked lid.
