DescriptionThere are three scenes, one central, two at the side. The central scene shows a woman in red and green seated with a basket in her lap and a staff or rod in her hand. A man in blue walks towards her. On the left is a woman in green and pink tending sheep. On the right is a woman and man talking. There is a flower border. The scenes appear to be taking place outside, there are trees, bushes and mountains in the background. But, across the bottom and sides the scene is enclosed with what seems to be a stage. On the left is what appears to be a red curtain. The back shows a man and woman on a piece of land with trees surrounded by water. There is also a floral border. The sticks are mother-of-pearl, carved and pierced with two figures, birds, insects and flowers. They are gilded. The gold colored box is probably not the original box as the fan does not fit in it well.On View
