DescriptionVessel made of gourd with 4 cowrie shells attached to either side (8 shells total). Stopper on top upon which a pattern is engraved along the outside. A boar tusk sticks out from this stopper. Brown residue all over. Ink? on cowrie shells. Cowrie shells attached with twine and each shell has two holes pierced through it (smaller than 1 cm), one of which is used to attach the shell to the gourd, the other placed on the opposite side. Larger piece of twine connected to cowrie shells on either side for a handle.On View
