DescriptionSmall bowl (tecomate) with effigy protome on side. The protome is freely modelled and represents a monkey-like individual. There is one small handle on the dex shoulder as you face the effigy, no evidence of a companion handle on opposite side. One small chip next to figure's dex hand indicates basic fabric is grey ware. Plain surface very patinated, but indicates that original color was highly-burnished red slip. This size and style of effigy suggests Post-Classic Mixtec.
