DescriptionPart of a mantle of a mono-ply plain weave cotton, and wool supplementary weft in an alternating check pattern.  Wool is double-ply yarn of a relatively coarse texture- probably llama.  Wool was originally dyed in a deep rose and bluish-violet.  Trace of fadding which apprear pink and a lighter shade.  Each square is approximately 11 cm.  and alternate horizontally (blue-violet, plain cotton, deep rose, left to right), and are arranged diagonally in the same color.  The cotton appears to be the undyed brown variety.On View
