DescriptionOne piece, bright blue dress (.l) with separate overskirt (.2) of corded silk taffeta. Fitted bodice has jewel neckline, long fitted sleeves. Bodice neckline, front edge, and sleeves edges are trimmed with soft pleated lace. Back of skirt is cartridge pleated onto bodice. Skirt has a wide bias ruffle above the hemline. The top of the ruffle, wrists of the sleeves and hemline of the overskirt are trimmed in ruching of the same silk. The dress closes at the waist which has hook and eye closures there and at the left side front. The separate overskirt is apron-like in front and split up the center back. The back portions are cartridge pleated onto the waistband, with a center back hook and eye closure. The bow on the center front belongs at the center back waist. The waistband has stiffening, the overskirt is unlined. The skirt is lined in tan glazed cotton, the hem bound in blue wool twill tape, and hidden pocket in the right side front seam. The bodice is not boned, but is lined in tan cotton twill.
