DescriptionOblong box with curved lid and 4 small ivory feet (claws or lotus petals?). The ivory is inlaid as well as attached to the wood in strips, lace-like decoration, and ornamentation. Hindu deities as well as flowers and rope-like designs are drawn in black on the ivory. the left deity is four-armed, four-faced man holding plants with his two upper hands. Left lower hand rest on his left knee. Right lower arm is bent and han near heart. Has four hat and is wearing levih clothing. Sitting cross-legged on a lotus or bed of leaves. The other deity is Saraswati, a four-faced, four-armed woman playing a musical instrument with two upper arms. Lower right hand holding a plant, lower left hand holding an object. itting on a lotus. Box has metal hinges, ivory nails, and a sandalwood lining.
