DescriptionWide, flat bottomed canoe. Bird-like head at bow indicates that this is a model of a Nootka type canoe. Eye designs at either side of bird head on bow. The wood is very light in color and is painted with red and blue paint at bow and stern. Designs are of triangles and long cylinders with much use of alternating red and blue dots-indicative of a Nootkan artist. Designs are identical on both sides of the canoe. Stern has circular designs, long cylinders and dots; bow has large red triangle, long cylinders and dots. No paint on middle of sides. On View
