DescriptionDepiction of a European ball in a grand hall. Men and women dance in a line. Left foregound shows a pile of tri-corn hats, right foreground shows a tailor sewing a gentleman's pants while he sits. The back wall of the hall is lined with portraits and statuary in Tudor and early modern style. The border is a numbered grid, each section showing a detail of a different drawing study: faces, florals, and textures.
