Description"V-shaped" halibut hook. The arm with the metal hook is wrapped with cordage. The other arm is fairly flat on one side and carved on the other. This carving is of an animal with nostrils, eyes, and ear shaped designs and circular designs along the length of both sides of the body. A fish probably a salmon, lies on this animal's back in an almost profile view with eyes, mouth, pectoral fin and finned tail. Through the fish's back is carved a hole through which a thick line of cordage has been threaded and secured with a knot on the inside surface. There is another knot at the opposite end of the cord.
