DescriptionGreen plaid taffeta afternoon dress, with two sleeves. Made of green/grey/white silk in an uneven plaid. The white pagoda sleeves and shawl collar are trimmed with a flossed silk fringe on a multicolor braid. The sleeves and collar detach to reveal a short sleeved bodice with oval neckline. This is trimmed with an added band just below the neckline which broadens the shoulderline and ends in a chevron in the center front. The stripes run horizontally on this, in opposition to the vertical lines in the bodice and skirt. Both are decorated with bands of the same fabric cut on the bias and shirred and stitched to the dress at the edges and center of the stripes. The sleeves and band on the bodice are edged in green/black/white silk fringe (dress hooks in back). The skirt is lined in brown glazed cotton with a ruffle inside the back. The bodice is lined in black.
