DescriptionIn the center of the leaf are two figures in classical dress. A standing female holding a basket of flowers, a kneeling male holding flowers out to a statue. the statue is to the left of the figures and is a cupid-like figure with a dog. The rest of the scene is sketched in with pastel colors. There is a border around the scene in orange-brown with gold cross hatching. On the inside edge of the border there are flowers. The back of the fan is plain with just a gold line around the edge. The sticks are of ivory pierced with a design of circles. The sticks are gilded and silvered. The stud has two stones, on clear, on a dark yellow or brown. The box is of blue silk with painted flowers. One the bottom there is Asian lettering and a card glued to it which says, "Vernis Martin" London 1871 LS.JOn View
